Red Rabbit Racing

It took 3 separate cracks at Hawthorne's Entry Box, but finally a 50K Allowance Optional Claiming race at a mile on the turf was carded with but 5 entries and our...

NOT FALLING BACK WAS ODDS ON AND MADE IT 2 IN A ROW!

That's right Rabbit Fans, our boy went Wire to Wire for his second straight win at Hawthorne.  Under the expert ride of Luis Colon, he broke our boy alertly and hustled out to the lead and never looked back.

There was extra drama this RaceDay because it looks probable that this could be Hawthorne's last day of racing as the bankrupt track has but one bidder for it's assets - and that looks to be from a Trucking Logistics company!

If they are the only - or highest bidder - this 100+ year old racetrack will  be plowed under to make way for a Truck Depot!  Stay tuned to the news as the Bankruptcy Court will make an announcement this week on who gets Hawthorne!

All the RRR Partners were trackside, except Babe Rabbit (Family Conflict), Rick (Florida), and Pop (Heaven).  Picture left is the group that made it there and cheered our boy down the lane, winning a nice winners share of 19k we split with partner Tim Keeley!

Recapping the race, we drew the 4 hole in this compact field of 5.  The betting public had installed us as the 3/5 favourite.  We were the first race on the card.

Money Rabbit was already drooling at the prospect of a BIG purse, while Roofer Rabbit made sure his wagering funds from his Swiss Bank Accounts had arrived and were in place.

Luis, looking damn cool in RRR's award winning silks, gets our boy the lead and he and another mule tracking us open up an 8 length lead flying down the Backstretch.   The fractions were mighty swift, but you could see Luis had a tight grip on our Steed as they entered the stretch.

The hapless donkey that ran with us on the Backstretch was collapsing as quick as Steve Gallo on his wedding night.  10 year old Team Block home bred Another Mystery tried to close on us late, but we had put too much real estate between us by the wire.

It was great to see Ben & Jordan there along with their Calvin and Addie Girl.   Founder Rabbit's daughter Jodi was there along with Aunty Peg's friend Paula.  Together all of them piled into the Winner's Circle for the photo before they headed to the barn to love up our Hero in his stall.

Make sure you check out the photos and we will keep you posted if this was are last race at Hawthorne....

WHO KNOWS WHERE AND WHEN THE NEXT RACE IS ?!?

THANKS TRAINER BLOCK FOR GETTING OUR BOY READY

AND LETS HOPE WE SEE HAWTHORNE AGAIN!
